This fall's events: where to go and what to see while staying at the Willing Hotel

Autumn is a time of deep colors, aromatic coffee, and a leisurely enjoyment of life. At this time, Minsk is especially expressive: the air becomes clearer, the streetlights softer, and the cultural life more vibrant. For guests of the Willing Hotel, autumn is the perfect season to not only see the city, but also to experience its atmosphere through art, gastronomy, and strolls along the picturesque embankments.
Culture and Inspiration: Theaters, Exhibitions, and Music
Autumn in Minsk marks the beginning of a season of premieres and festivals: theaters present new plays and ballets, galleries open new exhibitions, and chamber concerts and jazz evenings create a special atmosphere of warmth and inspiration. All this is just minutes from the city center.
Theaters and Cinemas
The Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater (7 Engels Street) is the heart of Belarusian drama. Its repertoire combines classics and contemporary productions, and the theater's historic building is an architectural gem in itself.

The National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Belarus (1 Parizhskoy Kommuny Square) is a symbol of Belarusian art. It hosts major opera and ballet premieres, festivals, and touring performances. The interior and acoustics make a visit special, even for those who rarely see the theatre.

The Minsk Concert Hall (5 Oktiabrskaya Street) is one of the city's finest venues. It hosts symphony concerts, jazz performances, and ethnic festivals, attracting audiences from all over the city.
The Pobeda Cinema (20 Internatsionalnaya Street) is the oldest operating cinema in Minsk, opening in 1950. After a major renovation completed in 2024, it reopened its doors to audiences. Located in the heart of the city, Pobeda has preserved the atmosphere of post-war Minsk while transforming into a modern multiplex cinema with cozy auditoriums, plush sofas, improved acoustics, and attention to interior detail. Carefully restored stucco, mosaics, and frescoes transport audiences back to the 1950s, and the screening program combines festival films, arthouse films, and popular releases. Today, Pobeda has once again become one of the most atmospheric places for movie nights during the cold season.

The Central Cinema (13 Nezavisimosti Avenue), which opened in 1954, is one of the capital's most famous and beloved movie theaters. It screens popular new releases from international releases, as well as festival films, and hosts special screenings and cultural events. In the fall, it often shows films from the Listapad Film Festival program. The Central Cinema also hosts screenings as part of the TheatreHD project, where you can see performances from leading international theaters on the big screen.

Exhibitions and contemporary art
The National Art Museum of Belarus (20 Lenina Street) is the largest collection of Belarusian art. Its collection houses classic and contemporary works, including paintings by Khrutsky, Byalynitsky-Birulya, Savitsky, and Drozdovich, as well as works by Italian, Russian, and Polish masters. Its galleries display paintings, sculpture, icons, and decorative arts, and host temporary exhibitions and art projects.

Art spaces on Oktyabrskaya Street (Oktyabrskaya Street) – a walk along this street becomes an introduction to the living city: murals, creative spaces, and cafes – art goes beyond the walls and becomes part of everyday life.

The DK GALLERY collection (2a Gertsena Street) features works by outstanding Belarusian artists who have made a significant contribution to the history of national art, while also introducing the public to undeservedly forgotten names. The gallery preserves and develops the traditions of Belarusian painting, bringing together established masters and emerging artists in joint projects and exhibitions.
A&V Art Gallery (17 Revolyutsionnaya Street) was founded in 2015 and is located in the heart of Minsk, on Revolyutsionnaya Street. This unique art space has become a magnet for connoisseurs of contemporary Belarusian art. The gallery's main goal is to support and develop contemporary Belarusian art not only in its home country but also abroad. The gallery focuses on contemporary Belarusian artists, hosts solo exhibitions, and participates in international art fairs and exhibitions.
The Palace of Arts (3 Kozlova Street) is one of the largest exhibition centers in Belarus, dedicated to artistic exhibitions. The Republican Art Gallery of the Belarusian Union of Artists features exhibition halls for painting, graphic art, decorative and applied arts, and an art hall.

The National Center for Contemporary Arts of the Republic of Belarus (NCCA) (3 Nekrasova Street and 47 Nezavisimosti Avenue) holds over 5,000 works of Belarusian and international art from the second half of the 20th and 21st centuries. These collections are being used to create new exhibition projects, such as "Plus/Minus 100" (2023), "Beyond Space" (2023), "Constellation of the Wanderer" (2023), and others.
The Center focuses on experimental forms of performance art. It was here that the first street theater festival was held in Belarus. Its venues host performances by contemporary theater groups, creative evenings, museum festivals, as well as light shows and puppet shows for children.
Each year, the NCCA hosts the International Textile Art Festival "TekStylny Buket," the exhibition "Jazz! Cats! Spring!" and a number of special art projects.

Music and live evenings
Minsk is famous for its cozy bars and clubs with live music. These evenings are especially atmospheric in the fall.
Piano Bar Minsk (3 Yurovo-Zavalnaya Street) is one of the city's best music bars. It features jazz, soul, and retro orchestral music, and the interior, inspired by an old European salon, creates the atmosphere of a chamber concert.

Honky Tonk Piano Bar (Internatsionalnaya St., 25a) is a corner of the American blues club scene in the city center. Pianists perform here, live vocals are featured, and the menu offers dishes perfect for sharing while listening to music. Warm lighting, exposed brick walls, and the ambiance of old Chicago make the evenings especially cozy.
ZAVOD (gastropub-karaoke, Masherova Ave., 19) is a dynamic space with an industrial feel and vibrant energy. Cover bands, jazz improvisations, and acoustic concerts perform here in the evenings. The atmosphere is both lively and cozy: you can listen to music, dine, or stop by the karaoke room with friends.

At the Town Hall (1 Gertsena Street) is a restaurant in the heart of Minsk, where the city's leisurely pace reigns during the day, and in the evenings, you can escape the chill over dinner under the warm glow of the shop windows. Live music adds a touch of coziness and romance to the atmosphere, a touch of the old city center.

Restaurants and cafes on Oktyabrskaya Street
Oktiabrskaya Street is one of Minsk's most interesting streets: former industrial buildings, repurposed spaces, murals, and creative corners. It's a place you don't just want to grab a bite to eat; you want to linger, admire the facades, peek inside, chat with the barista, and breathe in the city.
DEPO Cafe. At 23 Oktiabrskaya Street, this cafe and pancake house offers a warm, friendly atmosphere. The menu includes pancakes, drinks, and light dishes. It's a place you'll want to stop by for breakfast, lunch, or just sit listening to slow music and watching the people pass by.

Moby Dick Café. Located at 16 Oktiabrskaya Street, in the heart of the creative district, the café combines industrial style with the comfort of a homey space: brick walls, vintage details, and soft lighting. The menu offers aromatic coffee, all-day breakfasts, desserts, and light dishes. It's a pleasant place to start your morning with a latte or stop in for an afternoon break from exploring the city. Music is often played in the evenings, and the atmosphere is conducive to leisurely conversations and meetings.
American Diner. This café and restaurant at 19B Oktiabrskaya Street is a vibrant 1960s-themed space: brick walls, neon signs, retro sofas, and the atmosphere of a diner straight out of a movie. The menu includes classic burgers and cheeseburgers, milkshakes, and desserts, and the interior evokes the feel of the film era.

Let It Be. A café and bakery at 23A Oktyabrskaya Street. The bright and minimalist interior with shades of beige, green, and gray creates an atmosphere of lightness and comfort. The menu offers breakfasts throughout the day: croissants, danishes, omelets with mozzarella and raspberry sauce, oatmeal with trout and guacamole, and simmered syrniki. During the day, you can enjoy salads, soups, and European dishes, and in the evening, desserts and a glass of wine.

Gastrobar "Nastroenie est" (The Mood Is) is located at 16k22 Oktyabrskaya Street. It's a cozy and modern space where taste meets atmosphere. The menu combines European and signature cuisine, dishes made with seasonal ingredients, and a variety of cocktails. From 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, they serve popular breakfasts, including a favorite: eggs Benedict with bacon. The interior is designed in a modern urban style: soft colors, designer lighting, comfortable sofas, and panoramic windows overlooking the street.

Walks and autumn routes
Autumn is the best time to explore Minsk at a leisurely pace. The city seems to soften: the air is cleaner, the colors are deeper, and the streets breathe a calm. The Willing Hotel is located so that every step from here is the beginning of an interesting route.
The Svisloch River embankment is right next to the hotel. In the morning, it's quiet, and the sky is reflected in the water, as if the city is just waking up. In the evening, there's the soft glow of lanterns, a few passersby, and the smell of coffee from nearby cafes. This is a place where you can simply stroll along the water, listening to the rustling leaves.

Gorky Park (Ploshchad Pobedy metro station) and Trinity Suburb (10 Starovilenskaya Street) feature old houses with tiled roofs, wooden shutters, and cozy benches by the water. Trinity Suburb is especially picturesque in autumn.

The Botanical Garden (Park Chelyuskintsev metro station) is one of the most beautiful places in the capital. In October, its paths are bathed in crimson and gold hues, making a stroll a true respite for both the eyes and the soul.

Oktyabrskaya Square and the streets of the city center are a place where different eras meet. Here you can see Stalinist Empire style alongside Art Nouveau and Art Deco, and experience the rhythm of the city and its history. A walk along Lenin, Karl Marx, and Theater Squares reveals a new side of the city.
